Happy Anniversary...Burial of Katrina

With this being the anniversary one the most devastating natural and even bigger man-made disaster in history, I wanted to create a piece in responds to my feeling about the current state of New Orleans and the lower 9th Ward. After, going back and forth with a couple of ideas, I stumble across an article that gave me some inspiration: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_katrina_anniversary  After, a few sketches and drawings, I came up with this image for the "Burial of Katrina".
